Summary:碩士 === 國立海洋大學 === 航運管理學系 === 90 === Abstract Many people on-the-job increasingly enroll in college courses to obtain knowledge. What they learn and use must be helpful to their promotion or organizations. The thesis is established to an investigation about the people on-the-job reading for Master’s degree to understand the relations between knowing and doing knowledge and to find what kinds of knowledge they learn and use can influence their job satisfaction. Besides, according to references about knowing-doing problem, three factors affecting application of individual’s knowledge in the organization are confirmed by statistic analysis in this thesis. A questionnaire was constructed to 350 individuals. Of the 350 surveys, 206 were returned and 175 usable responses were received and used in the current study. According to the results, people on-the-job at the same time learning knowledge from formal education to get their Master’s degree use what they know very well. Furthermore, results suggest that individuals should learn much specialized knowledge than any other kind of knowledge because learning is not enough to get their promotion and improve compensation. They must use it. So that is why I emphasize that what interfere with individual’s application of knowledge should be found.
