Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北大學 === 企業管理學系 === 90 === One of the purposes of this study was to understand the competitive situation and the developmental trend in broadband internet service providers by analyzing the abroad and domestic aggregate environment and applying Porter’s five forces model to this study; another purpose was to know the strategies used by ET Webs and its niches through analyzing Porter’s “Industry Value Chain” and Weihrich’s TOWS matrix; and finally the author analyzed ET Webs’ primary competitor and tried to derive short-term and long-term competitive strategies from the previous analyses. The conclusions of the study were as follows: 1.The most important factor that may influence access in broadband internet was its characteristics. Because of HFC’s larger bandwidth, cable modem is more competitive than ADSL. 2.Cable modem service providers can not only provide bundling services and more attractive content, but also provide service that combined online game and e-commerce. 3.Broadband internet accessing was the mainstream of the internet accessing in Taiwan. 4.Since Chungwa Telecom Workers’ Union (CTWU) no longer monopolized the industry of broadband network service, all the competitors used more aggressive methods to compete each other. Besides, after the other Fixed- Networks jointed, the market will enter the stage which we called “growth”. 5.In anticipation of this study, the primary competitor, Chungwa Telecom Workers’ Union (CTWU), will try to transform its customer who used traditional way to access into those who use ADSL as an internet-accessing tool by all advantages it already has. 6.Short-term strategies a)To integrate internal and external resources related to ET Webs. b)To accelerate the HFC cabling. c)To transfer to another block in accessing market. d)To integrate factories of 3C and establish other marketing channels. e)To expand the content of broadband website. f)To provide customized service. 7.Long-term strategies a)To adopt bundling service. b)To ally with company in different domains. c)To increase financial resource. d)To study and research internet technology positively.
