Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 商學研究所 === 90 === THESIS ABSTRACT GRADUATE INSTITUTE OF BUSINESS SCHOOL NATIONAL TAIWAN UNIVERSITY NAME : SHANG-YI LO MONTH/YEAR: JUNE,2002 ADVISOR : CHONG-CHAO CHANG A STUDY ON BANK ATM SERVICES BUSINESS MODEL ATM is an integrated technology of hardware, software and communication to allow bank to provide its customers 24 hours financial service at self-service manner. According to the Taiwan MOF published information in June 2000, there were 14,638 ATMs island wide and with accumulated 66 million ATM cards issued. This showed that averagely every one million population been served by 652 ATMs and every resident owned at least two ATM cards, which representing that Taiwan already falling into the top 10 countries category of ATM services penetration in the world. But tracking the ATM services history in Taiwan, it is still at very rigid stage. While when we started talking about ATM services business model, it was attributed to many retail stores to launch retail ATM services with financial organizations in USA several years ago. The retail ATM not only provides the traditional financial services but also allow the customers to purchase the cinema ticket, subway ticket, post stamp, and even the telecom prepaid card over the ATM. The purpose of this thesis is trying to help Taiwan bankers in reevaluating their ATM services business strategy via related secondary information study and referring the experience of USA ATM services business model.
