The thesis proposes an adaptive formation protocol for applications of pervasive computing, for example, prompt key information updating in Bluetooth Ad Hoc network. Previous researches proposed to construct a Bluetooth tree to guarantee the time efficiency in any kinds of broadcasting applications. However, the analysis of this thesis demonstrates that the Bluetooth tree cannot guarantee the time efficiency as the number of participants is huge. It might be due to the interferences among the formed piconets; or it might be due to a significant time to construct the Bluetooth tree when the quantity of message is too small. This thesis proposes a fresh architecture called Novel tree for information broadcasting. The Novel tree not only can moderate the PER (Packet Error Rate) to guarantee the time efficiency but also can conserve power consumption. For key information updating in Bluetooth Ad Hoc network, this thesis also presents an adaptive formation protocol based on the quantity of message and the number of joining members. The adaptive formation protocol can form three architectures of information updating network --- Direct broadcasting, 7_tree and one new scheme, called Novel tree. Through analysis, although each architecture has its own appropriate practice, via the proper adoption of three architectures in the Bluetooth Ad Hoc network, the time efficiency and power consumption will perform optimally. 陳健輝 吳曉光 2002 學位論文 ; thesis 47 en_US
