Due to the difficulties of finding a conformal mapping transformation function for awkwardly shaped inclusion that simultaneously maps the exterior and the interior regions of the inclusion onto a plane with a simple interface, the exact closed form solution is available for the elliptical inclusion problem only. Based on the interface perturbation method combined with the analytical continuation method, the general approximate solutions for the nearly circular inclusion problems are obtained in this study. The subject of this research contains the following items: the isotropic nearly circular inclusion problem, the anisotropic nearly circular hole problem and the anisotropic nearly circular inclusion problem. On the analysis of each item, we derived the general methodology to treat that kind of problems and then, with the intention to demonstrate the derived general methodology, applied them on the case subject to the condition under remote uniform heat flow. The polygonal inclusion problems are solved as a special example and the interfacial stresses are carried out and discussed in detailed. In order to verify the effectiveness of this proposed method, we reduced our results to the solutions for the polygonal hole problems to compare with the exact solutions provided by the literature.
