Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 營建工程系 === 90 === Behavior of Reinforced Concrete Dapped-End Beams with Horizontal Loads Graduate Student: Shi-Long Lin Thesis Advisor: Ying-Jun Lin ABSTRACT This study presents an experimental investigation of reinforced high-strength concrete dapped-end beams, with a/d larger than unity, subjected to vertical and horizontal loads simultaneously. Twenty specimens were tested to study the effects of concrete strength , area of primary tension reinforcement , shear span-to-depth ratio , nib depth-to-full beam depth ratio , and horizontal loads on ultimate shear strengths of dapped-end beams. Test results in this study indicate that the design recommendations contained in Section 4.6.3 of PCI Design Handbook【1】 are still applicable for dapped-end beams with a/d larger than unity. But the PCI proposals may overestimate the beam-type shear strength in the extended end. The ultimate shear strengths predicted by Mattock’s proposals【2】 are quite conservative. Based on test results, the design recommendations proposed by Huang【8】 can more reasonably predict the shear strengths of high-strength concrete and normal-strength concrete dapped-end beams.
