Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 營建工程系 === 90 === With the improved welding technique, the applications of steel have been widely used both in buildings and in bridges. However, the fatigue problems at certain welding details of steel structures are usually a serious problem, such as the high cycle fatigue at the welding details of orthotropic steel bridges and the low cycle fatigue at the beam-to-column connection of building structures. In this study, experimental studies are carried out to study the fatigue problem of welding details both for high cycle fatigue and low cycle fatigue. In addition, the stress concentrated effect of the welding details is evaluated based on finite element method. And the results are compared with those from the experimental study. Good correlation is found between the analytical results and those from the experimental study. Suggestions are also made on the fabrication and quality control of these types of welding details adopted in this study.
