碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 觀光事業研究所 === 90 === Jerusalem as a center of importance for Jews, Christians and Muslims. Every year it is visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists. Not only Jerusalem is a 4,000 thousand- years old city, it is also the many religionists’ soul dependence. Jerusalem is more than the international religious tourism destination and it is worth for people’s study in its re-ligion, culture, history, art, architecture, archaeology, tourism and so on. Tourism is a major source of foreign currency for Israel. As for the Taiwanese who visit Jerusalem, they are few but their numbers are increasing by year. It is a potential market. This study is to be conducted by personnel interview with convenience sampling at the Christian churches in Taiwan and is to examine the difference of the travel motivation and constraints between those who visited Jerusalem and those who wish but did not visit Jerusalem. It is expected that they will be different on their travel motivation and constraints; and those who visited Jerusalem will also differ in rate and motivation by denomination as well as based on travel motivations and constraints. The travel experi-ence and willingness to revisit are also to be considered for those who visited Jerusalem. Mean difference, correlation and other statistical analyses will be employed in this study. The understanding developed should be useful tourism planners and promoters in Tai-wan and Israel as well for the churches to improve their understanding of the role of tourism to Israel in Christian religious life of Taiwanese.
