The comparison between analog and digital optical fiber communication system is also discussed; furthermore, the design criteria of hybrid and bi-directional optical fiber communication system as well as elimination of crosstalk phenomenon could be the crucial expertise while devising a system with outstanding characteristics. The advantage and feasibility of long distance communication system of optical fiber, integrated with 256-QAM, large effective area fiber (LEAF), and high-speed digital device, OC-192 with a maximum speed up to 10Gb/s, are investigated respectively. Excellent system efficiency was obtained when utilizing the proposed framework. The experimental outcomes are in good agreement with theoretical predictions. The effects of crosstalk phenomenon would deteriate long-distance optical communication systems. This thesis has presented a technique utilizing chirped fiber grating dispersion compensation and LEAF to vanquish this drawback.
