This study was set to analyze various opinions toward PA performance from the parents of the diverse background, and eventually what their attitude may cause to the PA performance. This study were conducted through literature review, and questionnaire survey. A customized questionnaire sheet, ‘‘The Performance of the School PA’’ designed by the author, was used as the primary tool in obtaining pertinent data from the parents of the Taipei public school pupils. Conducted from the 857 people, a total of 622 valid responses were obtained from the survey. These data were then closely analyzed by a statistical software SPSS 8.0 for window through descriptive statistic, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, frequency distribution, percentage and chi-square test. The conclusions drawn from the research are as follows: 1.The Taipei elementary school parent associations are scaled as highly performance. 2.The Taipei elementary school PAs are especially praised in the aspects of “supporting school activities” and “anticipating administrative decisions”. 3.The Taipei elementary school PAs are also doing well in “ enriching school resources”, though this is no longer their main concern. As for “ supervising school education”, the PAs are doing just fine, leaving much room to be improved. 4.The parents from the various backgrounds hold diverse viewpoints toward the performance of PAs. 5.The important factors to the performance of Taipei elementary school PAs operation and implementation are as follow: -For the aspects of school: The act of the principle and school administration. -For the aspects of PAs: The interaction between the members, the ability of anticipation, and the education beliefs of the parents. -For the aspects of society: the conditions of school district and the community as well as the support from the superior administration. -Generally speaking, the aspects from the schools affect the most. 6.The parents from the various backgrounds hold no significant different viewpoints toward the factors of PAs performance. Based on the findings and conclusions above, workable measures and recommendations for education administrators, PAs and further studies are proposed in this study. 劉春榮 2002 學位論文 ; thesis 174 zh-TW
