This study used the questionnaire compiled by the researcher herself to collect the data. The questionnaire included personal data and the factors of affect the teaching effectiveness of physical education in elementary school. The dependent variables included gender, marriage, teaching experiences, educational background and the duty in the school. Besides, the teaching effectiveness factors included the communication between students and teachers, teaching strategies, teaching attitudes, teachers’ behaviors, teachers’ concepts in self-effectiveness, teaching content and teaching methods. 16 elementary schools were chosen with the method of stratified random sampling and the effective samples were 316 serve as subjects. The data was processed by descriptive statistics, independent t-test, and one-way ANOVA. The results of this study showed that the scores on teaching effectiveness on Taipei City’s elementary school physical educational teachers are about average or above. Teachers graduated from physical education departments have higher teaching effectiveness than others departments. Teachers who specialize in teaching physical education curriculum have higher teaching effectiveness than those who don’t. Conclusions, it’s more appropriate for teachers who graduated from physical education departments to teaching physical education in elementary school. If necessary, all of the physical education curriculum in the elementary school should be taught by teachers specializing in physical education.
