With these characteristics, the international orders are sent to Taiwan. The plenty of orders, complicated production process and the various constraints in scheduling lead to the high complexity in scheduling task. Scheduling of drilling operation belongs to unrelated parallel machine scheduling problem. The scheduling rule of this operation in a real-world PCB factory was investigated in this thesis. An intelligent scheduling system was also developed to deal with an unrelated parallel machine scheduling problem with considering the ready time, partition, weight and setup time of each order. The comparison with the real-world case revealed that the heuristic attains 9.32% improvement. The computation time is within 200 seconds when the number of jobs is smaller than 60.
