Summary:碩士 === 國防大學中正理工學院 === 電子工程研究所 === 91 === The contents of this thesis are composed of the use of several kinds of fiber gratings, erbium-doped fibers and different pumping levels for implementing a ring fiber laser. In the tuning method, the center wavelength of a fiber Bragg grating is changed by applying different levels of strain along fiber axis for tuning the output wavelength of ring fiber lasers. It is a quite simple wavelength-tuning mechanism. The maximum range of wavelength can be tuned about 16 nm. By the way we use superstructure gratings and polarizer controllers to switch and tune the output wavelength of ring fiber laser with the bandwidth of about 0.3 nm. When a Sagnac loop is created in the ring fiber laser, its bandwidth will become 0.5 nm. In the future we try to design and find a better tuning system for improving the tuning range of a fiber laser.
