Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 化學工程研究所 === 91 === In this work, the technique of phase transfer catalysis was employed to synthesize the ether compounds from the reaction of 2,4,6-tribromophenol and dibromo-o-xylene in an alkaline solution/organic solvent two-phase medium. The reactions in the organic phase the types of series reactions in which the tetrabutylammonium salts were employed as the phase transfer catalysts. The main purpose of this work is to search for the kinetic behavior, reaction mechanism and the corresponding activation energy. Based on the experimental results, both a rational mechanism of the catalytic of etherification was proposed and the rate expression was derived. The effects of the reaction conditions, such as agitation speed, temperature, the amount of quaternary ammonium salts, the amount of alkalinities, organic solvents and their amounts and the amount of 2,4,6-tribromophenol on the conversion and the rate constants were investigated in detail.
