Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 成人及繼續教育研究所 === 91 === This paper describes and discusses the reason for elder to attend leisure education in relation with their background. Base on our study, the conclusion might be valuable to other research group or organization planning a better program. We choose questionnaire for the research method, and collect our data from 655 senior who study in Kaoshung Elder College. A table is created for “the motivation for the elders attend the leisure education.” Data is represented by the method which are descriptive statistic (includes frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation,) T-test, and one-way ANOVA. In result of our research has concluded the following: 1. Elder who is female, married live with couple, hold high school diploma, work as household or staff as government agency are the majority for the member of leisure education. 2. Five participate motivation of attending leisure education include being knowledgeable, making friend, rising an interest of live, supporting and courage from others, and fulfilling self-satisfaction. 3. Fulfilling self- satisfaction is major reason for elder to join the leisure education, and the being knowledgeable is the second reason to attend this program. 4. Through the research, our society has no influence in elder’s desire of taking leisure education. 5. To conclude our finding point, the motivation to elder participates for the leisure education is variety. 6. Personal background can be possible reason for elder taking the leisure education. Through our study we presented our view as reference to those elder education institute or organization, elder himself/ herself , or other researcher who are interested to this matter: 1.Our common to elder education institute or organization (1) Encourage poor- educator participate for the program (2) Satisfied learners preference (3) Plan suitable strategic base on different characters. 2.Our advice to elder himself or herself take the leisure education (1) Recognized the value of the leisure education,be able to include the idea part of life. (2) Understanding its own motivation and taking an interest class as he/ she wish for. 3.Our recommendation to other research fellow: (1) Sample chose could extend to further place such as north, south, east, west, and central part of Taiwan. (2) Research method can combine with the interview elder or through the teaching program to observe their inspiration. (3) Personal character or other social reason should be consider the possible reason effect the result of study. (4) Amount of question or size of word should also be considered while we chose questionnaire method as our research tool
