| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 機械系 === 91 === Hub transmissions have already been implemented in bicycles for a long time, but most of them were designed for rear hub transmissions. The purpose of this thesis is to study the design criteria of front hub transmissions for bicycles and to develop some new conceptual designs. First, the literatures and patents about hub transmissions are collected and classified. The design requirements and constraints are defined. Next, A creative design process is proposed to synthesize all possible types of front hub transmissions. As a conclusion, the five-bar 2-DOF planetary trains can be developed to twelve types of 3-speed front hub transmissions and four types of 4-speed; and the six-bar planetary trains can be developed to sixty types of 5-speed and twenty six types of 6-speed. Finally, a best 5-speed conceptual design is evaluated and developed to a new front hub transmission.
