It has commonly been used in Chinese medicine as a curative from number of ailments such as hemorrhage, gout, epilepsy, arthritis, rheumatism. Thirty-seven compounds were isolated and characterized from the fresh T. ritonzenensis. Their structures were identified by spectral analysis and compared with authentic literatures. These include (+)-catechin (18)、(-)-epigallocatechin-3-O-gallate (23)、rutin (30)、quercetin-3-O-α-L-rhamnoside (32)、quercetin-3-O-β-D-xylopyranoside (33)、quercetin-3-O-β-D-glucopyranuronic acid (34)、quercetin-3-O-β-D- glucosyl-6”-gallate (36)、quercetin (41)、quercetin-3-O-β-D-glucoside (42)、quercetin- 3-O-β-D-glucosyl-6”- methylate (43)、(2S)-naringenin- 5-O-β-D-glucoside (44)、(2S)-naringenin-7-O-β-D-glucoside (45)、kaempferol (46)、kaempferol-3-O-β-D-glucoside (47)、kaempferol-3-O- β-D-rutinoside (48)、ellagic acid (49)、p-coumaric acid (50)、ferulic acid (51)、methyl gallate (52)、gallic acid (53)、squalene (54)、β-amyrin acetate (55)、lupenyl acetate (56)、lupeol-3-palmitate (57)、α-tocopherol (58)、1-(4-hydroxy- phenyl)-ethanone (59)、n-octadecyl-caffelate(60)、 n-hexacosyl-ferulate (61)、methyl-(21S)-pheophytin-a (62)、methyl- (21R)-hydroxy-pheophytin-a (63)、pyropheophorbide a methyl ester (64)、 methyl-(21S)-pheophorbide-a (65)、methyl-(21R)- pheophorbide-a (66)、 pheophorbide-a (67)、glycerly-1-butcosanate (68)、gylcerly-1- octacosanate (69)、stigmasterol+β-sitosterol mixture (70)、stigmasteryl-3- O-β-D-glucoside +β-sitosteryl-3-O-β-D-glucoside mixture (71)。 Each layers and isolated compounds were subjected to evaluate their bioactivities. The results of MTT assay showed that five compounds include quercetin (41)、kaempferol-3-O-β-D-rutinoside (48)、ellagic acid (49)、pyropheophorbide a methyl ester (64) and methyl-(21S)- pheophorbide-a (65) could inhibit cell viability against Hela cell, and n-BuOH layer extracts (10g/ml) is better than vit. E (30M) in scavenging DPPH radicals. Methanolic crude extract and all partitioned layers could activate human neutrophils in releasing superoxide radicals.
