Description
Summary:碩士 === 中原大學 === 機械工程研究所 === 91 === In-mold decoration of injection molding technology is so interesting in Taiwan’s customer because IMD process can provide good surface quality when manufacturing 3C products and automotive plastic parts. The most difficulty in production is that the printed ink in film may be washed out when the molten plastic, is injected to the mold. The present study investigates: (1) effects of injection molding characteristics on ink wash-out during in-mold decoration process including film property, film thickness and ink, and (2) influence of injection molding characteristics on film deformation. It is found that when mold temperature and injection speed increase, ink in film will be easily washed out. Mold temperature will influence the connectivity between ink and film. As melt temperature increases stress decreases and less ink was washed out. When mold temperature and injection speed increase, film will be easily deformed. As melt temperature increases, film deformation decreases. The film deformation increases with decreased film thickness because the associated tensile strength decreases. Soft film deformed more easily than hard film.
