This study is made based on the machinery industry in Taiwan to find out the true meaning of key factors that made the success of Taiwanese machinery industry, and realize the present developing situation and the foreground of machinery industry in Taiwan. It researches whether Taiwanese machinery industry can be eternally operated and developed with these success key factors in this variable change of environment in both local and abroad markets. It also widely researches the analytical technology for the phases of key factors that made the success of Taiwanese machinery industry, and makes each phrase can be linked one by one for the benefit of integral consideration and application. To sum up, the purpose of this study is to build up a bridge between practical machinery industry and theoretical scholastic field by providing the success key factors of Taiwanese machinery industry for the reference of the relative industries and the government to set up operating strategies.
This researching method has two parts--one is study of documents and the other is practical testify of independent cases. By comprehensive interview and analysis comparison of individual cases, the success key factors of Taiwanese machinery industry are:
1. technology that can cope with international competition
2. researching capability that can meet the demand of industrial development
3. international marketing capability
4. unique brand image
5. peripheral environment suitable for industrial development
6. handle of ample resources
7. supply of complete manufacturing structures
8. leadership
