| Summary: | 碩士 === 高雄醫學大學 === 口腔衛生科學研究所碩士在職專班 === 91 === Objective：This study focused on the relationship between cigarette smoking, alcohol drinking and betel quid chewing of junior and senior high school students in Chang-Hwa County with oral examination and questionnaires.
Methad：Chang-Hwa County has 27 vocational senior high schools with 37,050 students and 40 junior high schools with 55,314 students. The research of junior high schools is composed by the measure design of two phase clusters samplings, and (vocational) senior high schools by measure of two phases systemic sampling modes, total 409 cases. After collecting compiling the questionnaire data data management and statistic analysis implemented by SAS, JMP etc. systematic software.
The result showed the prevalence of cigarette smoking, alcohol drinking and betel quid chewing of interviewed students, seperately 2.49% for betel quid chewing (boys 4.52%, girls0.49﹪), cigarette smoking 9.45% ( boys 13.64%, girls 5.37%) and alcohol drinking 12.03% ( boys 13.79%, girls 9.71%), the trend is downwards.
The study of cognition, behavior attitude and to cigarette smoking, alcohol drinking and betel quid chewing showed those who never used betel quid , cigarettes or alcohol did not agree with the behavior of betel quid chewing by the measure of attitude to betel quid chewing. By the part of cigarette smoking attitude measure, teenagers who have chewed betel quid or smoked did not keep good physical health and should inhibit smoking in public. By the alcohol drinking attitude measure those who refuse cigarette smoking, alcohol drinking and betel quid chewing have a positive attitude about not smoking. They not think alcohol drinking can be relaxing, it affects their studies smoking wastes their money, increases their costs, reduces their judgement and reaction.
Logistic regression analysis shows the major factors of chewing betel quid are sex, educational level and parent marriage situation. It also pointed out that smoking was influnced by sex, educational level and daily pocket money. Alcohol drinking was decided by pocket money, drinking cognition and attitude. The result finds out the girl’s life quality is inferior to the boys, senior high schools students are worse than junior high school students, the boys who drink are inferior to non drinkers.
SF-36 measure table shows: Mental component summary (MCS) shows, compared to the girls, the boys have a better life quality. Physical component summary (PCS) pointed the life quality of smoking schoolgirls is inferior to non smokers.
