Recently fire disaster from exterior wall has been a threat to life and property. Besides, in Taiwan, fire resistance of curtain wall is still unknown. Therefore, this essay takes un-opening aluminum plate as a subject to do preliminary study, finding out what is the main factor affecting its fire performance. In conclusion, the essay provides specific suggestions to the design and construction of un-opening aluminum plate. By reviewing studies and conveying experts to confirm the factors which affect un-opening plate of curtain wall and the experiment program by Taguchi orthogonal arrays at first. Besides, under method of fire resistance test for structural parts of building controlled by the standard time-temperature curve to do preliminary study about structure fire performance. According to the analysis of result of experiment and the discussion of the problem, to know effect of different structural factor to fire performance of un-opening aluminum plate of curtain wall. The results of this study are listed as below: 1、By experiment, it shows that construction of un-opening aluminum plat of curtain wall in common use is unable to pass 30 minutes fire ratings. And they are all fire insulation failure, but fire integrity can reach to 40 minutes at least. 2、Factor of plate combination affects fire insulation most. The class of rock wood affects fire integrity most. Other factors do not affect obviously. 3、When using curtain wall un-opening aluminum plate, there are suggestions in design and construction list below: (1)Using waterproof plate using the iron plate with zinc and fireproof rock wool increases fire rating. (2)Unit frame should use heat insulation framework or stainless steel frame. If using whole aluminum frame, there should take notice that aluminum frame must be protected by rock wood. (3)Rock wool should be inserted into sheathing framework. Or add one insulation sheet between plate and sheathing framework in case of heat conduction. (4)Density after inflammation should be considered when choosing insulation material between spandrel un-opening aluminum plate. (5)Glass wood and aluminum strips fixing insulation material should not be used in un-opening spandrel.
