However, the electric power supplied by electric power company is seriously polluted that may be attributed to the increasing use of non-linear loads. Therefore, the measurement of power quality has become particularly important in this modern industry. In view of this crucial need, this thesis will provide a cost-effective solution to measure the power quality with the aid of simple object access protocol (SOAP) technology as well as the distributed client/server structures. By use of the proposed paradigm, the performance of power quality analysis will be highly improved. Furthermore, the software developed under the open standard of SOAP will be executable at different kinds of platforms without additional modification, largely reducing the software development time. Meanwhile, the method proposed in the thesis is based on the XML specifications embedded with a dynamic and flexible interface of distributed object service. Therefore, the developed power quality analyzer could be utilized at distinct platforms, while the communication difficulty and compatibility can be both solved. To facilitate the retrieval of acquired data, this proposed analyzer also integrates with back end database; hence, the related personnel can easily evaluate and make decision based on the acquired electric signals. In order to confirm the feasibility of the proposed approach, several scenarios including the harmonics, flickers and system unbalances are all validated by use of the proposed method. Test results support the practicality of the method for the applications considered. Shyh-Jier Huang 黃世杰 2003 學位論文 ; thesis 96 zh-TW
