This paper integrates Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) with a set of graphic control program design, and to plan the graphic human machine interface, which can easy to control and reduce cost. Besides, programs for machine diagnostics can minimize downtime by diagnosing machine malfunctions after detecting machine faults, and the diagnostic results can find the name and location clearly for failed machine components, so that it is easy for the maintenance worker to find the failure location. Programs for machine diagnostics can minimize downtime and maintenance time. Isolating failed machine components and devices can reduce the time of troubleshooting. In cases where devices are not direct inputs to the PLC, such as mechanical component, diagnostic programs can be used to isolate problem areas by monitoring various critical machine or process parameters. Diagnostic routines can even warn potential failures so that preventative maintenance can be performed at a convenient or scheduled time. Machine failures can also be recorded by the PLC provide historical failure or reliability trends. This thesis combines World Wide Web (WWW) and the web-based automation environments. Every client can connect to the server through the WWW, and the operator can monitor the machines and the boilers in any time and any place. When the machines produce any trouble, it will transmit the warning message to operator. In addition, the software designer can operates the machines to execute diagnosing machine malfunctions through the WWW when the machines and the software designer located at different place.
