Carbon products were purified by chemical method. The carbon products, pre and post purification, were evaluated by using SEM, TEM, X-Ray and Raman Spectrometer. SEM observation verified different structure of allotropic carbon products, including graphite (lamination structure of sp2 bonding), C60 (spherical) and carbon nanotube. Raman and XRD examination of purified carbon nano-product''s sp2 bonding from three different catalysis systems appear to be reasonable. TEM examination of carbon nanotube, grown from three different catalysis systems, indicated that they are ranging from 5 to 50 nm in diameter. Raman and XRD analysis showed that crystallinity of carbon nanotube increases with increasing cooling time. Another experiment was to synthesize carbon product composite material for EMI shielding by mixing carbon nano-product with EPDM , ABS or PMMA. The conductivity of these composites were measured by a Four Point Probe . The shielding effect test was also made. The tests result indicated that the nanocomposite material, synthesized with carbon nano-product from carbon-diamond catalysis system mixed with ABS, has high conductivity and the best shielding effect.
