Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 營建工程所 === 91 === By System Dynamics (SD) and highway engineering cases, this research explored the Design/Construction interface problems. The interface problems are defined as inadequate communication and coordination between the design and construction parties. By literature review, a system dynamics model, consisted of four sub-systems, was constructed to represent the system of interests. The SD model consists of four sub-model, which are (1) design performance of Detail Design Consultant (DDC), (2) budgeting of the design project by the owner’s District Project Office (DPO), (3) scheduling of the design work, and (4) scale of the subcontracting design project. By analyzing the graphical SD model, it is concluded that the Design/Construction interface problems are neither simple nor accidental events. These problems are caused from the complex interactions of the four aforementioned sub-systems. To solve the problems effectively, managers have to understand the influencing factors, interactions, time delays, and structures underneath the superficial problems beforehand.
