A collaborative action research was employed to investigate the relationship between the scripture-reading education and children’s self-concept. A class from the 5th grade students in an elementary school was selected as the sample of the study. The data were collected and analyzed by means of interviews, class observation, document analysis, and the pre- and the post-test. The main findings are as follows: 1. According to the investigation of children’s behavior, learning ability, and self-confidence, the scripture-reading education is proved to have positive effects on the self-concept of children. 2. The scripture-reading education seems to have negative effects on the self-concept of children through the analysis of the pre- and post-test of self-attitude questionnaire.
