This study adopts research methods of a questionnaire survey and semi-structured interviews, etc. to analyze current textbook selection system of the night-year-integrated-curriculum. As for the study steps: firstly collect and analyze documents related to textbook selection, to form the base of compiling questionnaires and interview questions. Secondly, compile questionnaire according to document research results, and via cluster random sampling survey 41 public junior high schools in Taipei City and County. Thirdly, according to the research results of documents and the questionnaires proceed with semi-structured interviews, to comprehend further, under the real school conditions, the opinions, problems, and suggestions on textbook selection system of teachers, administrators and parent delegates at school. Finally, according to these above-mentioned research results bring up conclusions and suggestions towards present junior-high-school textbook selection system of the Night-year-integrated-curriculum. According to the research results, the main conclusion of the study includes: 1. The levels of textbook selection system: (1) Presently teachers of junior high schools still agree with selecting textbook at school level. (2) The ratio of teachers who agree with selecting textbook at levels of county government, city government, or local school district is low. 2. The staffs of textbook selection system: (1) Teachers of each domain play the main roles of the selection at school now. (2) The staffs should join the textbook selection in many ways. (3) The administrators should emphasize more on the consulted and assisted roles. (4) Educational administrative organizations should play the roles which regulate the textbook selection. 3. The procedures of textbook selection system (1) The radio of each school with a specialized organization is not high. (2) The declaration of government order and the formation of common view before selecting textbooks are still not good enough. (3) There’s still some improving space for holding studies on textbook selection. (4) At present the major selecting organizations are each learning domain’s association of instruction study. (5) The standards of evaluating and selecting textbooks are designed by teachers of each domain. (6) Teachers deem that scholars and experts should help them design the standards of evaluating and selecting textbooks. (7) Most teachers can accept current length of the textbook selecting time. (8) Partial schools do not prepare spare versions when evaluating and selecting textbooks. (9) Partial teachers deem that schools do not explain publicly the whole selecting process, reasons, and the textbooks’ usages after the selection. (10) Some teachers consider that schools do not evaluate the textbooks after selecting. (11) The most often adopted evaluating mode is discuss the issue at each domain’s study meeting. (12) There is wanting in the feedback channel to the publishers after the evaluation. 4. The standard of textbook selection system: (1) According to the entire selecting standard, teachers focus a lot on selecting standard of all levels, especially on the selecting standard of “contents and organization”. (2) The good or bad of publishers’ factors is the essential condition of textbook selection. 5. The fixed number of years of the textbook selection system: (1) These days most schools select textbooks once per year. 6. The possible related factors on textbook selection system: (1) Of all possible related factors, teachers deem that teachers’ personal factors and students’ factors affect most. (2) School administrators join the selection as the “teachers of each domain”, “professional opinions providers” now. (3) Presently most parents trust school rather than give any opinions. (4) The main affecting policy of textbook publishers is “raise the additional value of textbooks”. 7. Other issues on textbook selection system: (1) Most teachers prefer national composed version competing with other textbooks in the market. (2) Over half the teachers are not content with both current selection system and the textbooks in the market. (3) The quality of reference books and test papers is worrying. (4) Most selection staffs query few about the selecting process at school field. According to the conclusion of this study, bring up some related suggestions to educational administration organization, schools, teachers, and publishers.
