The processes of producing and marketing channels of the product are complicated and lack of efficient trade mechanism, which lowers producers'' reasonable profits and consumers'' benefit. Thus, integrating the producing and marketing channels including the consumers'' need, order form manufacturing, products certification, transportation and sailing system, etc. is important, Establishing a highly efficient supply chain management system will save costs and promote the value added. This study tries to examine the supply chain system of milkfish, and to evaluate the processes and structures of producing and marketing channels in order to find the problems and difficulties of the industries. The purpose of the research is to determine the key factors that make the intercalation of leading supply chain management into the Taiwan milkfish industry successful. The study will also provide suggestions on how to increase the supply capacity and improve efficiency of marketing channels. It will also serve as a reference to improve the industry value. By questionnaire survey, the major key factors for success are: 1. The government must promote cooperation between the industry and the academic community, promote research in bioscience at the same time for the purpose of building up and strengthening partners relationship of supply chain. 2. Milkfish industry or government should be set up a center for handling goods and materials at the place of production, to construct the supply chain net work, to promote efficiency in flow of goods and to strengthen the ability to responds quickly to the customers’ demand, the three measures crucial to aquatic productions. 3. The production of marketing of aquatic productions should introduce the electronic business, parcel delivery service, traceability of fish, and certification system in older to make marketing frame work and quality control more integrity. 4. Members of the supply chain must have common understanding to form partner relationship. 5. Industry must to build up a system of projecting productions and marketing, to stabilize the source of fry, and to plan effectively system. 6. The government should support the strategic alliance of Milkfish, and establish a data bank for information. 7. Processing factory must introduce HACCP into the processing industry of aquatic productions, and to participate in international foods exhibits, Milkfish industry open up the international market and aim for sustainable development. Finally, this research provides recommendations for development, and market planning to the Milkfish industry. Moreover, the results of this study can be the reference to the government and related entrepreneur for policy making and strategic management.
