Summary: | 碩士 === 國立海洋大學 === 食品科學系碩士在職專班 === 91 === The purpose of the study is to develop an online food sanitation
inspection database system based on GHP regulation. The data base system
utilizes a server-client construction. The information database and its service
are controlled by Microsoft SQL server, and the client utilizes a Visual Basic
application to perform its interface. The server and client communicate and
exchange data using ActiveX Data Object (ADO) for the client and OLE DB
providers for the server. All the related food sanitary regulations are
compiled into the system. All data entry, modifications, saves, deletions, and
checks will be computerized using the Structured Query Language (SQL).
The system will automatically generate inspection checklist according
to different food categories and magnitude of their facilities. The result of a
facility inspection can be saved integrating with pictures taken from a digital
camera in a file that can be sent through e-mail to local and central health
agencies. While inspectors will be able to access the system online using a
Notebook or Tablet PC, it can also be carried directly to food business
facilities. The system allows inspectors to simply input and output data,
while also allowing them to immediately review previous inspection records
as well as update data. After all necessary data have been input into the
system; the system will check and provide a print report to the food business
IV
inspected, verifying if any laws and regulations have not been complied.
The aims of the newly developed data management system are to
re-engineering and computerize the process of food sanitation inspection
procedures. By taking the advantages of the system, immediate inspection
records can be retrieved with simplicity and ease and the results can provide
statistical data for future food policy decision-making purposes. The food
sanitation inspection database system’s functions and provisions include (1)
saving inspection records into an organized database system, while
providing efficient updating and retrieving, (2) generating inspection
checklist to facilitate auditing and integrating pictures with inspection report
(3) printing inspection and non-compliance report for food business allowing
future verification purpose, (4) increasing efficiency by allowing the food
business to correct non-conformities on-line without re-visit by the inspector,
and (5) providing statistics of all kinds regarding to food sanitation
inspection performance.
