The survey study was based on self-designed questionnaires. The subjects were 1060 teachers drawing from the 21 elementary schools in Taipei county. 541copies were returned and collected effectively. All data have been processed and analyzed by using SPSS10.0 for windows. Mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA were applied to analyze the data collected by the researcher of this study. Aftermath would be analyzed as the deviation reached significant level (α=.05). The results were as followed: The dimension of the validity of professional development activity types: “teaching demonstration ”reached up-middle degree, “inspect or interview”、”workshop”、”action research” just reached below-middle degree. Each kind of institution reached middle degree. The duration of ” half to 3days program “reached middle degree, ”credit program”、”over 3 days program” and ”degree program” just reached below-middle degree. On the director aspect, ”professional practice teacher” reached up-middle degree, “general university professor”、”principle or director ” and ”administrator” reached below-middle degree. The dimension of teachers’ current professional development situation: “teaching skill”、” professional spirits”、” healthy physical and mind” and “participating organization development” reached up-middle degree, “the knowledge of study field”、” curriculum design and materials selection and organizing” and “life-long learning” reached middle degree. The dimension of the deviation of teachers’ professional development under different background: (1)There were no significant difference on the part of teachers professional development, given the consideration of teachers’ gender、education degree、school scale and school region. (2)There were some levels reaching significant difference on the part of teachers professional development, given the consideration of teachers’ age、years of teaching experience、position、teaching experience.
