Through this study, a better understanding of the possible problems of children’s poetry education process can be gained as well as being a reference for future children’s poetry education. The thesis uses literature review, interviews, and survey analysis methods. Through literature review, the background of the first issue of “Kite,” editorial content, and other children’s poetry activities will be analyzed. Interviews provide a way of knowing the operations of “Kite” at that time and member views on promoting children’s poetry education. Surveys will collect data on members’ opinions on content, point of view, and functions of the journal. Research results show that “Kite” has a wealth of content and activities. Moreover, much manpower has been poured into the publication that helped in promoting poetry education to primary schools, being an indispensable factor in uplifting children’s poetry in the Kaohsiung and Pingtung areas. The research also reveals how the members’ determination, consulting effectiveness, movement of core persons, and editorial planning affected “Kite’s” publication length. In addition, other factors have affected children’s poetry education such as functionality, the popularity of specialized schools, educational background of teachers, and teaching methods. Problems raised by “Kite” in children’s poetry education can reflect Taiwanese children’s poetry education. Looking back, it is believed that those working in the field of children’s poetry can more calmly think of the quality of children’s poetry education, teaching, creativity, and research.
