Taiwanese IT industries are already on the internationalization tracks. In addition, due to the impact of WTO, Taiwanese traditional industries are also looking for opportunities to evolve and update themselves. Of all the traditional industries, logistic industry is the one, which has the closest connection with our daily life. However, it is the channel, which plays the key role of logistic industry development. That is why many studies of channel were made to better understand traditional industry evolution. Base on personal interests and resource integration, food industry was selected as the thesis study target, including Serena Foods, Standard Food, Kingcar Foods, Ten Ren Foods and Taisun Foods. Starting from 1985, channel business had been evolving due to local economic booming in Taiwan. Local companies has begun internationalizing through strategic alliance, or forming joint venture with international companies. New channel business like convenient stores, warehouses, supermarkets or departments are spreading island wide through chain store strategy. The speedy development of chain store has totally changed the concept of traditional channel business in Taiwan. The goal of the thesis is focusing on local food manufacturers. What are their strategies when facing the evolution of channel business? How do they maintain core competence and profits when working with channel vendors? How do they successfully evolve into channel business? How do they maintain mutual beneficial relationship with channel vendors? From Paper Research, the mutual relationships between supply chain and industry was well developed. In addition, various ways of corporate evolution, and key factors of evolution were also thoroughly studies, including the vision and characteristics of CEO, corporate strategy, and evolution performance evaluation. On site corporate interview was made base on research structure. The thesis direction was made based on cross study of hands-on experiences and paper study. Finally, conclusions were provided to food industries, which are facing channel evolution.
