Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 工程科學與海洋工程學系 === 91 === Using an unsteady CFD method, propeller open water tests are simulated in this paper. First, the 3D geometry of a propeller is generated based on a parametric representation method. The rotation of propeller is accomplished with a sliding grid technique. By solving RANS equations, the unsteady viscous flow around a propeller is computed and the propeller’s performance is obtained. According to the calculated results, a special strategy must be used to avoid the non-physical prediction error near the sliding boundary. In the validation of a KP505 propeller, the thrust coefficient, the torque coefficient, and the pressure distribution is reasonably predicted. However, the tip vortex and its influence is not calculated accurately due to the insufficient grid density. This method is also applied to design and analyze a submarine’s propeller with 7-baldes and high-skew.
