The work of this thesis is to devise novel and efficient techniques for optimally designing digital filters and QMF banks based on IIR all-pass filters. With the aid of WLS and Karmarkar’s algorithms, several minimax design methods are proposed. The resulting two-channel QMF banks can possess approximately linear phase response without magnitude distortion. The effectiveness of the proposed techniques is achieved by forming an appropriate Chebyshev approximation of a desired phase response and then to find its solution from a linear subspace in a few iterations. From the simulation examples demonstrated in each chapter of this thesis, the satisfactory and efficient design results can be confirmed. Lee, Ju-Hong 李枝宏 2003 學位論文 ; thesis 242 zh-TW
