Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 電機工程學研究所 === 91 === Now halogen lamp is the most popular type of automotive headlights. In recent years, however, High intensity discharge (HID) lamps have begun to be used in headlights system because of high efficiency, long life and natural color. Automotive xenon lamps require ballast to generate enough high voltages at start-up period and provide stable arc currents for the lamps at steady-state operation. Last years using high efficiency xenon lamp for saving energy, but in efficiency and harmonic could be improved and to get lower cost. In general, xenon lamp needed 20kv pulse to start up, then given a constant current to supply the lamp. In order to meet the requirements of the lamp at start-up and normal operation, the ballast consists of four parts: 1. DC/DC converter. 2. High igniter circuit. 3. DC/AC Inverter circuit. 4. Driver and protect circuit. The Unitro’s HID lamp controller IC UCC2305 integrates all of the functions required to control and drive the HID lamp. To miniature the size of the electronic ballast, the driver and protect circuit were built with UCC2305.
