To different themselves, enterprises must capture, manage, and leverage their intellectual assets. This can best be accomplished through proper application of a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) approach that addresses the needs of the extended enterprise. To create, manage, disseminate, and leverage product definition information collaboratively across the extended enterprise from the concept to end of life, this research using four kinds of systems, in different data structures and with different application strategies to build a PLM system Infrastructure dealing with all kinds of data management problems. Those systems are traditional PDM system, Product data management in a project management system, the BOM for extended supply chain environment (BOMx), the applications of product definition, and the Catalog-view system.
