Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 微生物學研究所 === 91 === Yeast cells undergo senescence in a telomerase-deficient mutant. A few cells escape from senescence by activating telomere recombination pathway. The transcriptional level of YPL014W was increased during this elongation process. The transcripts of this gene oscillate during the cell cycle and peaks at the M/G1 boundary. A promoter region (-500bp to —50bp from the start site) has been defined that confers the M/G1-specific transcription in the reporter system. Two putative early cell cycle box (ECB) elements, which confer M/G1-specific transcription and were bound by a transcriptional factor, Mcm1, have been found in the promoter region. We show that these elements regulate the expression the YPL014W.
