In face of the rapid information development and the quality competition of medical care，nursing administrators from hospital to establish nursing information system in order to improve the quality and efficiency of nursing care。
In the development of nursing information system，electronic nursing record is one of the most complicated and difficult one，A rigorous systematic assessment is necessary before the development of a comprehensive and user-friendly system of nursing record。
The Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) development by Davis(1989) can be used to investigate the users’ acceptance of information technology and yeied satisfactory predictive and explanatory power。
Method：
Based on the TAM the current study applied self-administered questionnaire to investigate the nurses’ perception of the easiness and the usefulness，and their attitude and willingness to use the electronic nursing record system。In order to predict the efficacy of electronic nursing record system，the study also compared the efficiency and quality of nursing care between electronic and traditional paper-and-pencil nursing record。
Results：
Toward the use of electronic nursing record system，the nurses’ attitude tended to be positive and the willingness was high (M ± SD:4.62 ± 1.03)。there were 57.3% and 30.4% of subjects being willing and natural to use the electronic nursing record system，There were positive correlations between the easiness and the attitude，between the usefulness and the attitude and the willingness，between the easiness and the usefulness，and the attitude and the willingness。Multiple regression revealed a negative relationship between the nurses’ belief on the improvement of efficiency and quality of nursing care by using electronic nursing record system，The results indicated that the nurses prefer the traditional paper-and-pencil over the electronic nursing record system，although they valued the efficiency and quality of nursing care of the electronic version。
