Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 化學工程系 === 91 === A static-type apparatus with a liquid-phase circulation loop was used to measure isothermal vapor-liquid equilibrium ( VLE ) data for the binary systems of methyl benzoate + benzoic acid, ethyl benzoate + benzoic acid, and water + benzoic acid at temperatures from 413.15 K to 453.15 K. The experimental results exhibited no azeotrope formation. These VLE data are needed for design of separation process of azeotropic water/ethanol mixture with reactive distillation method. The binary VLE data were correlated satisfactorily with the NRTL and the UNIQUAC models, respectively. These VLE data were also used to test the two versions of UNIFAC model. The calculated results showed that the version of 1982 (UNIFAC-82) yielded better prediction for methyl benzoate + benzoic acid and ethyl benzoate + benzoic acid systems.
