Abstract:
Since 1949, more than 50 years, the confrontation and separation between Taiwan and Mainland China has produced a huge division of ideology, political institution and life style, in which the language and race of both sides are same. The policy of Taiwan in 1987 reopened the blocked door and expanded the unofficial contact of both sides, but it has not eased the political tension and diplomatic competition. However, the confrontation and divergence between Taiwan and Mainland China does not obstruct a uniform opinion of two sides in past several decades. That is, both of them pay extraordinarily high respect to Dr. Sun Yat-sen.
For admiring and respecting to Dr. Sun Yat-sen as the founding father and pioneering revolutionary of modern China, there are a bunch of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Memorial Halls and museums over Taiwan, Mainland China, United States, Singapore, Japan and Macao, and a lot of people go there to show their respects and remembrance of this great man. The political separation between Taiwan and Mainland China more than 50 years has made the Sun Yat-sen’s Memorial Halls of both sides with distinct characters. How are the goals, systems, situations and orientations of management of both sides’ memorial halls different from each other? Moreover, although both sides worship the supreme position of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the different political standpoint across Strait is easy to question whether the Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Memorial Halls in Mainland have special purpose of united front or not. For these reasons, the major goals of this thesis are as following:
1. Discuss the systems, organizational frames, working staff and human resources utilization of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Memorial Halls across Strait.
2. Understand the managements and current status of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Memorial Halls across Strait.
3. Compare and analyze the commonalities and differences between Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Memorial Halls across Strait.
4. The conclusion would like to offer the analysis of the functions and standings of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Memorial Halls across Strait after a set of transformations of periods. Finally, I will evaluate the future orientation of these developments in order to provide concerning information to the related organizations and researchers, and hope to contribute the mutual contacts and interchanges of two sides.
