Summary: | 碩士 === 淡江大學 === 建築學系 === 91 === This research emphasizes on the re-utilization of the fringe area in the urban environment. By analyzing characteristics of the regional culture and digital technology, the integration of both issues into the living spaces will provide a new opportunity to perceive urban design.
“Displacement” is the starting point for the analysis of this research. The main issue is there exists no essential hierarchy among “space”, ”event”, ”activity”, and ”function”, thus, “subversion”, “replacement”, and “apposition“ are the major methods for “creating spaces with event”. The next observation is about the features of Taiwanese culture, the renovations for the fringe area of city are explored according to different groups of users; “to institutionalize” the “dilapidated spaces” of the city are stressed. Finally, from the investigation of minority people of the city, “mobility”, “un-private” and ”non-independence” are the main factors cause the dilapidated spaces of the city.
Based on the observations and issues discussed, the standpoints of this research are derived, there are: ”Void” (comparing with corporeal space), ”Double-decker” (related to the space of in-between), ”Floater” (contrast with static states), and “attachment” (complementary to the original space). These four issues will be the major concepts for the design developments of this research.
