Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立師範學院 === 國民教育研究所 === 91 === A Study on the Relationship Between Knowledge Management Ability and School Effectiveness for Elementary School Principals Huang Ming-Jer Abstract The main purpose of the study is aimed to understand the current status of the knowledge management ability and school effectiveness by the elementary school principals in Taipei County and also to realize the relationship between the two factors through questionnaires. The result is led to investigate the different performance among the principals with varied background in the knowledge management ability and school effectiveness. In order to pursue the aforementioned primary objectives, it is preliminary to compile and develop the theory basis of this research through document analysis, then design the questionnaire by integrating the said theory basis for investigating the opinions or comments obtained from principals of public elementary schools on the relationship of their knowledge management ability and school effectiveness. This research sample has covered the total of 182 principals from public elementary schools in Taipei County. Data were analyzed by T-test, one-way ANOVA and the two-way ANOVA. The conclusions of this research are stated as followed: (1) The principals from public elementary schools in Taipei County all have positive comments on the relationship between the knowledge management ability and school effectiveness comprehensively. (2) The difference associated with the relationship of knowledge management ability owned by principals from public elementary schools in Taipei County and corresponding to the school effectiveness is significant. (3) The difference regarding the sex, age, educational level, the length of service, the term of being the principal, the type of recruitment, the history of school, the location of school, the operation scale of school etc. for principals from public elementary schools in Taipei County relating to the knowledge management ability owned by principals is insignificant. (4) The difference regarding the sex, the term of being the principal, the type of recruitment, the history of school, the operation scale of school for principals from public elementary schools in Taipei County relating to the school effectiveness is insignificant. (5) The difference regarding the age, education level, the length of service, the location of school etc. relating to the factor of“Teacher’s Effectiveness”in the respect of school effectiveness is significant obviously. As for the relationship between the length of service and the school effectiveness it has reached to the significant level. (6) The difference regarding the relationship between the knowledge management ability owned by principals from public elementary schools in Taipei County and knowledge management ability at each different level is significant. (7) The difference regarding the relationship between the school effectiveness attained by principals from public elementary schools in Taipei County and the school effectiveness from each different level is significant. Finally, according to the aforementioned conclusions, this study has made some suggestions to the educational administration authorities, the principals of public elementary schools, the relevant units of schools and the follow-up researches for their improvements in the future.
