There were 132 college tennis athletes(boy:90;girl:42)which included 73 athletes from the Division I and 59 from the Division II. The Self-Handicap Questionnaire, Task and Ego Orientation Questionnaire, and Sport Motivation Questionnaire were administrated to the tennis athletes. The statistical methods for data analysis in this study included t-test and Pearson Correlation Coefficient. The results of this study were: 一、 The results from t-test: 1. There was a significant difference between tennis athletes of Division I & II on task orientation, but significant difference on ego orientation. 2. There was no significant difference between tennis athletes of Division I & II on self-handicap. 3. There was a significant difference between tennis athletes of Division I & II on non-motivation, but significant difference on intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. 二、 The results from Pearson Correlation Coefficient: 1. The results indicated a significantly positive relationship between task orientation, ego orientation, and extrinsic motivation on tennis college athletes. The results also found that task orientation was significantly positively related to intrinsic motivation on tennis college athletes. 2. The results of this study pointed out significantly negative correlations between self-handicap, intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation on tennis college athletes, but positively significant related with non-motivation on tennis college athletes. 3. Finally, the results of this study revealed significantly positive relationship between intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation on tennis college athletes, and extrinsic motivation was significant positive related to non-motivation on tennis college athletes.
