In this study, four-bar linkage mechanism was used to replace birds’ complicated-flapping function and a reduction gearbox was used to control flapping frequency. As to design the wings, the first step is to make sure of the propulsion function of membraniform wings; then we design different kinds of membraniform wings to find the fittest ones. In order to choose the most appropriate wings and required power unit, we did experiments to confirm the consumption of the power (torque) when different stroke angles and shapes of wings was used.
