ABSTRACT
This research was to find out the conditions, factors, discrepancie-s and relationships in recreational sport needs and constraints of ele-mentary school high grade students. The results from this study can serve as a guidepost for the government and the school to fabricate the related regulation and administration. This research used question-naire method. The samples were gathered from the high grade studen-ts of 12 public elementary schools in Tou-Liu, Yunlin. A questionnair-e, which is all set by us, is used as a tool to help complete this rese-arch. It is named " recreational sport needs and constraints scale of elementary school high grade students. It included personal inform-ation, recreational sport needs scale and recreational sport constraints scale. During the investigation period, 730 questionnaires were passed out. Among 720 questionnaires retrieved to be,707 questionnaires were effective. Therefore, the efficient questionnaires had reached 98.1%. After processing the data with descriptive statist-ics, explanatory facto-r analysis, Chi-square, one-way MANOVA, pr-oduct-moment correlatio-n, confirmatory factor analysis, we got the following generalization.
1.Among BMI at elematary school high grade students, the majority of students are middle.(64.9%) Respect the attitude of children’s participating recreational sport, parents as fosterer are much more.
2.Recreational sport in which students actually participate most are ball sport, outdoor. The latest participant recreational sport is Defen-d sport. Recreational sport which students really want to learn mos-t are water sport and ball sport. Folklore sport is the sport whichstudents really don’t want to learn.
3.It can be arrived at students’ inclination for the interfaces of psyc-hosomatic needs and structure constraints.
4.Recreational sport participation types, factors of recreational sport needs and constraints would be affected by sex, grade, but BMI was not.
5.Negative correlation exists between recreational sport needs and recr-eational sport constraints.
6. The results of recreational sport needs scale explanatory factor anal-ysis included social, right, education, psychosomatic, perceived freed-om five needs factor. The results of recreational sport constraints scale explanatory factor analysis included intrapersonal, structural, social three constraints factor.
7. Confirmatory factor analysis has showed the results that recreation-al sport needs and constraints scale fitted the data.
