Due to the increase of Internet transmission speed, the host CPU spends too much time handling Internet packets and the system can not execute routines at full speed, so our whole system performance goes down. In order to avoid this problem, we pay much attention to TCP/IP offload technology graduatelly. In this essay, we will research on TCP/IP offload, and we separate TCP/IP protocol from host CPU and it is designed and implemented by hardware. Now, our system design has completed, and we pass the tests and verifications of handling packets on FPGA chip. Li-Chi Feng 馮立琪 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 81 zh-TW
