Unavoidable, people sometimes take medical care in different organizations and leave their healthcare record separately. While the concept of “Patient-centered healthcare”[50] goes to be a common sense to modern people, aggregating patient healthcare record immediately is the key to provide a “continuous healthcare”[49].
Object: This research is going to build an efficient and secure platform for exchanging medical information. In order to collaborate multiple medical services, this research introduces a concept of “process-oriented” as the main idea.
Method: This research reviews local and international literatures of medical informatics as the base knowledge to take the problem definition and system scope. The building of platform is divided into two phase: the designtime phase and the runtime phase. Designtime phase contains static documents or definitions, such as electronic medical records, generic medical service interface and medical service process templates, etc. In the runtime phase, there are four layers to take responsible for different tasks. The four layers are “inter-hospital collaboration layer”, “standard interaction interface layer”, “intra-hospital collaboration layer” and “heterogeneous system adoption layer”. Among the four layers, the “inter-hospital collaboration layer” is the key of this platform.
Result: This research introduces an evaluation guide to building an inter-hospital medical information exchanging platform. This research sums up problems of recently medical informatics environment. Base on the guide, this research take referral process as an example to build a prototype system and aims to solve the problems.
