The function of ZAK is to arrest cell proliferation by causing G2 arrest in the cell cycle. The expression of ZAK in cells causes dramatic change in cell morphology and induces hypertrophic growth . ZAK also activate NF-κB and triggers apoptosis in certain cells. Phage display is a novel technique that can be used to identify peptides that bind to a molecular target of interest. The power of phage display technique is searching for ligands for a variety of target molecules (antibodies, enzymes, cell-surface receptors, etc.) To search specific peptides that might bind to ZAK, we used the Phage Display Peptide C7C system. We first purified ZAK protein for the purpose at biopanning and were collected the specifically- bound phages. Individual clones are character- ized by DNA sequencing. We identified 4 peptides that shows high posobillity to interact with ZAK protein. Further studies on these novel peptide for their inter- action with ZAK, we might uses many experiment at method, for example in vivo or vitro binding, BIAcore detection. To identified novel peptides for speci- fic targets might he useful for drug designing and also provides a better way of therapy than gene therapy. could provide a safe way better than gene therapy.
