As the chairman of CMO- Mr. Xu said “ TFT-LCD Industry is a excellent opportunity for Taiwan firms” Taiwan firms expand their capacity aggressively to struggle for a good position, that promotes Taiwan to the secondary manufacturing country. Since TFT-LCD industry becomes a highly centralization industry, that means the difference of firm’s competence s becomes much wilder. Cause of those conditions, this study trys to figure out somehow the different capacity expansion strategy and core competence of Taiwan TFT-LCD firms impact on firm’s performance. The methodology of this study is case study research, and the targets are Taiwan’s top 5 TFT-LCD firms, they are AUO; CMO; CPT; Hannstar and QDI. We analyzed the interviews data and secondary data, and then classified the type of each firm’s capacity expansion strategy and core competence. The results of this study are as followings: 1.The TFT-LCD firms adopt the dominating capacity expansion strategy are better than the adopting capacity expansion strategy in (1) the <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=sales&v=56">sales</a> growth rate (2) the net profit rate (3) the market share (4) the goal satisfaction (5) the whole performance. 2.The TFT-LCD firms own the complex core competence are better than the focus core competence in (1) the <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=sales&v=56">sales</a> growth rate (2) the net profit rate (3) the market share (4) the goal satisfaction (5) the whole performance. 3.The strategy-competence fit of TFT-LCD firms are dominating- complex acquire the best performance, and adopting-focus firms acquire the worst performance Yi-Chia Chiu Horng-Der Leu 邱奕嘉 呂鴻德 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 136 zh-TW |
