Description
Summary:碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 建築所 === 92 === The research focus on night activities safety cognition affected by recreation motivation, environment feature cognition, and personal safety cognition in Taichung Metropolitan Park at night. There were 419 valid samples. The objectives of this research were to analyze the influence of socio-demographic characteristics on park safety cognition, the differences of safety cognition among several recreational motivation groups, and recreational safety model of the Metropolitan Park at night. The analysis technologies were factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA, T-test, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The major findings showed: (1) Visitors of the age "20-29 years old", students, or unmarried have less sense of safety. However, gender had no significant difference on safety in Taichung Metropolitan Park at night. The park had using experience aspect, visitors of staying for 30 minute, accompany with friends, or compels had lower safety cognition. (2) The recreational motivation at night were divided into “social connection”, “romantic leisure”, “special purpose oriented”, “sports and outdoor learning”, and “to experience the circumstance at night”. Using cluster analysis on subjects was grouped into “family experience”, “the romantic contact” and “specific activity” three types. The environmental cognition at night was divided into “safety management”, “other person’s behavior”, and “environmental factor”. The personal safety cognition was divided into “park security” and “hurt by others”. (3) The “specific activity type” of subjects paid more attention than “family experience” and “the romantic contact” on the safety management, environmental factor, and other person’s behavior; who also had the least sense of safety. (4) Based upon the results of multiple regression analysis, “safety management”, “environmental factor”, “park security”, “romantic leisure”, and “to experience the circumstance at night” had significant difference on the sense of safety at night. The most influence was “safety management” and “environmental factor”. This result confined that environmental feature had the major effect on the sense of safety. The most unsafe areas in Taichung Metropolitan Park were “the long distance trail (take about 70 minutes to finish the whole hiking trip)”, “physical fitness activity area”, and “plants observation area” due to their corner locations of the park. According to Space Syntax and illuminate analysis, these three unsafe areas had less convenient accessibility and no lighting facilities. Therefore, trail accessible and lighting quality had major effects on sense of safety. The design and management strategies were also provided to improve the sense of safety of visitors in Taichung Metropolitan Park at night.
